Living Montessori Video Tour Transcript

My name is a Afrose Amlani. I am the principal of the Living Montessori Education Community that includes the early education as well as the Academy. Living Montessori began in 1997 when I opened the first school in North Seattle In 2005, I started planning Kids Bellevue, which is now Living Montessori Early Education. To meet the growing needs of our community, we created Living Montessori Academy that serves children from three-year-olds through elementary.

What makes Living Montessori unique is that it starts with our environment that is very purpose built. We have very thoughtfully developed this space to include, not just the classrooms, but we have extended that into a beautiful, natural, outdoor space. We have included the science lab where they can discover their universe. Then, we have our yoga studio, which is a beautiful, calm, peaceful space for children to come in and learn yoga, with our certified yoga specialist.

My name is Aliyah Hirji. I am the nutritionist and the director of admissions at Living Montessori. One of the aspects of the nutrition program that is very in line with the Montessori philosophy is helping children develop a healthy relationship to food. That is done by providing a variety and structure around meal times, but also allowing the child to decide when they are hungry and how much they eat.

My name is Stephanie Bence. I am one of the preschool kindergarten teachers here at Living Montessori. I have been to the school since 2006. I think that the goal for most teachers is to encourage a lifelong love of learning. I think that at Living Montessori, it is really attainable here with the enrichment program, the yoga, the organic food program. I mean we can start in the classroom. And we can go into the labs and really experience our work as an extension of the classroom.

We invite you to visit our website, to come and visit our school. Learn for yourself about our rich environment and what we have to offer to your children.
