Join Us for Living Montessori Summer Camps 2021
Nothing beats the excitement of summer! Drawing with sidewalk chalk, running through the sprinkler, and planting seasonal flowers in the garden all have a certain allure you can only find in Washington’s warm months. The excitement of sunny days propels children into energetic and explorative months ahead, and it prepares them for the upcoming school year.
Campers at Living Montessori experience socializing, freedom of choice, and engaging activities that captivate young minds. Summer Camp can mean specialty enrichment classes that expand children’s knowledge and understanding of unique skills, including woodworking, coding, and soccer.
Base camp is an all-day adventure for your child. During the morning and afternoon work periods, kids have freedom within their classroom to craft, play games, use puzzles, build block sculptures, or engage in dramatic play with friends. Each classroom stocks a large variety of materials to accommodate every child’s interests. The morning work period is long enough to allow children to become fully immersed and open-ended for exploratory play. Children appreciate the structure of our Montessori style work periods paired with the freedom of choice within their summer classroom.
Your child relishes the warm sunny weather with extended outdoor recesses. Recess on our four large playgrounds gives children opportunities to interact with each other and play important self-guided games that build their communication and problem-solving skills. When the weather is warm, your child suits up and run through the sprinkler or uses water sensory tubs for scooping, transferring, and splashing. Fridays are especially exciting as campers enjoy the thrill of jumping in our blow-up bouncy house! We celebrate the summer with outdoor dance parties and picnic style snacks in the sun.
Lunch and snacks are included in all base camp options, ensuring your child has the nutrients and energy they need for a day full of exciting activities. All lunches are made from scratch in our kitchen and our chefs work carefully to guarantee children with dietary needs or allergies are taken care of. Your child is exposed to a variety of whole, healthy foods early in life through our organic meal program. Additionally, Living Montessori summer campers participate in weekly culinary lessons where they make and taste foods such as breads and healthy smoothies.

Our hands-on woodworking class teaches children the basics of building: from measuring and sawing to gluing and nailing. Each student is able to build objects that they find exciting like birdhouses, racecars or tool boxes inspired by their experience in the woodworking class. This class builds confidence and responsibility, while instructor Brad Meyer directs children on safe tool use.
MINI-HAWKS SPORTS CAMP
This multi-sport program gives children a positive first step into athletics. Children learn the essentials of baseball, basketball, and soccer in an encouraging environment with a big focus on FUN. Campers explore balance and hand-eye coordination, too.
Little Picasso is a specialty art camp perfect for young artists and children who enjoy flexing their creative muscles. Your child experiences sculpting and painting clay, mashing pulp into handmade paper, and designing beads for jewelry making.
Ms. Wendy’s dance class encourages children to explore their creativity with big body movement, rhythm, and repetition. Dancers learn fundamental dance skills, exercise their growing bodies, and enjoy storytelling through dance.
Children enjoy a hands-on coding experience through familiar bricks and easy-to-use software. Coding with Lego allows children to discover, improvise, collaborate, and learn Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math (STEAM) skills that encourage critical thinking and problem solving.
ARTISTS IN ACTION
Artists in Action offers an exciting environment to explore artistic design. Children experiment with interesting art mediums like collage, sculpture, printmaking, painting and drawing, and over the course of the week broaden their creative problem solving skillset. Each class begins with a short creative drawing period to get absorbent minds active and ready to learn.
TRAVELING CHOCOLATE COMPANY
Young chocolatiers explore science and history as they learn about the wonderful world of chocolate. Students discover how people grow, harvest, and process chocolate, while enjoying hands-on chocolate dipping and tasting.
YOUNG WHIZ CHESS
The chess program integrates lessons on openings, tactics, endgame, strategy, tournament skills, and sportsmanship. Students learn respect for other players, form friendships, learn to work well under stress, and celebrate victories.
Living Montessori’s soccer classes teach children basic soccer skills in a fun and engaging environment. Your child practices sportsmanship, positivity, and teamwork, while learning how to dribble, pass, and shoot to score.
