Your child is the focus of our team members
Making a difference in the life of your child is the focus of Living Montessori team members. They recognize and value the benefits of education aligned with the philosophy of Montessori and the Living Montessori Education Community.
Each lead preschool, kindergarten and elementary teacher holds a Montessori certificate, as well as an A.A. or B.A. in Early Childhood Development or equivalent. Additionally, a number of our teachers hold an M.A. in teaching and/or are Washington State Certified K-12. On average, our lead teachers have 10 to 12 years of experience and most of our Teacher's Assistants have an average five years of experience in the field of education.
You can have confidence
in our faculty training standards
For your child's benefit, continuing education of our faculty is crucial to maintaining the highest standards at Living Montessori. We fund high-quality, developmentally-appropriate trainings for our faculty and require them to stay up-to-date on all the latest research in the field of education. With your child's interests in mind, Living Montessori provides internship opportunities for student teachers. Montessori interns will often work at our school under the supervision of our Montessori-certified teachers.
You are an important part of our professionalism and parent-faculty relationships
Your team involvement as a parent is highly encouraged at Living Montessori. Volunteering, joining the parent club, supporting classroom and school-wide events and participating in fundraisers are some of the ways you can be involved. When you inform teachers of changes in your child's life that may require support, it nurtures positive relationships and sends a clear message to the child: "I am valuable, I matter."
Discussing children's behaviors in their presence is disrespectful to them and is discouraged. We strive to create an environment for your child that is respectful, professional and supportive of team building so we can maintain harmony and high standards, ultimately benefiting the children.
Parents and faculty are considered team members in the task of educating and caring for young children. Therefore, we expect that each individual is treated with utmost respect. We highly value our faculty and require that they be treated as professionals.
Meet the team members who facilitate
