Sample School Break Camp Curriculum

Sports/Games

Following the lessons provided by Ilchi Lee in the book “Power Brain Kids,” students will learn strategies to strengthen both their minds and bodies: physical strength, brain awareness, relaxation exercises, and body/brain working together.

Creative Arts

Students will get a closer look at five famous artists’ work. Each day a new artist will be showcased with information about him and examples of his artwork. Students will be given the opportunity to create their own piece of art drawing inspiration from: Van Gogh, Picasso, Matisse, Monet and Keith Haring.

Music/Drama

Children will explore Eurythmics and dance according to set rhythms. This encourages a grounded sense of grace and sets the stage for formal music lessons. Understanding the fundamentals of musicianship, students will play instruments, recognize different tones, discover soft and loud dynamics and respond to conductor cues.

Culinary/Kid’s Kitchen

Gardening & Breads from Around the World. Kids will have the opportunity to garden using large container pots, and recognize the importance of building healthy soil, planting techniques, organic fertilizers, and watering. Making bread with family and friends is a long tradition in every culture. Children will discover different types of breads such as: roti (flat bread), chapati, rotlo, challa, pretzels, cinnamon swirl, ciabatta, soda bread, and whole grain bread.
